WHAT:
"Wave A" is a development weekend of meaningful applications for Google Wave. We are going to work on about 4-6 projects in this weekend that will be determined in advance. You will suggest the projects.
WHO:
Three types of people we are looking for to come to Wave A: developers, UI/UX experts, product managers.
WHERE:
The HUB in Tel Aviv, 55 Begin road, 7th floor.
WHEN:
15-16 of January, 2010
Friday from 09:00 till around 23:00
Saturday from 09:00 till around 23:00
PRE-EVENT:
A pre-event evening will take place 3-4 days before the weekend for introduction, some talks about the winning projects, setting up the work groups, and fun. You'll be notified personally by email about that.
The agenda:
Presenting the chosen ideas.
Get people into groups so they could:
Get to know each other before the weekend
Get to know the project before the weekend
Start to think about the idea, and get ready to work on the project itself.
Already split the ownership on parts of the project between them.
PRICE:
50 NIS per person, paying at the door.
You get food/place/a lot of fun for that money.
SPACE:
You'll need to fill a registration form. About 10-12 days before the event you will be notified if you got in or not. Either way, you'll get a communication from us.
The registration closes 2 weeks before the event. Register as soon as possible, chances are better that the earlier you register the more likely you'll get in.
GENERAL AGENDA (may be changed over time):
THE APPS:
We're going to develop 4 to 6 Wave applications. The applications will be chosen in advance and you will be the ones coming up with them. We'll probably vote on the best 6 of all of your proposals.
The ideas need to be simple enough, but good and that can be done in 2 days.
They need to be either exciting or that will fill a vacuum in Wave.
They need to be meaningful.
You can bring a project you're already working on as long as the remaining work is interesting.
Everything is Open Source.
THE WORK:
Working in small cycles, so that every couple of hours, we could show some progress (in a way of a working, but not final application)
DAY STRUCTURE:
Starting with some mingling
Short lecture about Wave (probably from a Googler).
Presentations of chosen ideas.
Getting into groups.
Start working.
MILESTONES:
End of day one: First milestone presentation (10 minutes per group)
Second day work: Second milestone presentation middle of day.
End of day, good byes, maybe final presentation (for people who have it).
MUSTS:

Have a Wave account or ask for one in advance.
