ארבע וחצי אחרי הצהריים, אני גמור מעייפות והדבר הכי לא הגיוני לעשות עכשיו לפני שאני שוקע בשינת תיקון ליום הזה זה לכתוב פוסט. אבל כמו שחזרתי וסיפרתי בשבוע האחרון לאנשים שונים שאינם כותבים בלוג, בלוג הוא פעמים רבות הדרך לשיחרור. הוא משחרר, הוא מסדר, הוא מנקה.

 הגעתי לקומבנשן בטרמפ מוקדם בבוקר. לפני שמונה כבר הייתי באיירפורט והיו בעיות עם התגים. החלטתי שאני לא מחכה, יורד לקומת התחתונה, לוקח ערכת לייב טאגינג מג'ף ומתחיל את היומית שלי. גיקים לא רק מגיעים בזמן, הם גם מקדימים. שכחתי שיש אנשים כאלה, זו עוד סיבה שאני מעדיף את הגיקים של ההיי טק על פני המאגניבים מהתקשורת.

 ויתרתי על אירוע הפתיחה. האולם היה מפוצץ וחשוך. היה נראה לי לא הגיוני להתיישב בפנים ולשמוע סקירה/חיזוי עתיד/בלבולי ביצים… שמתי לב שאני מעדיף שדברים יחתכו בבשר, שייצרו אמירה, שאני אוכל ללמוד משהו חדש, עכשיו, במיידי. אני מעדיף את ההארד קור שלי אינסטנט, ושיהיה חם בבקשה, אין לי כוח לחכות.

 במקום זה הלכתי לתת אהבה ליוסי תאגורי. לא רק אני הייתי שם. היינו שם קלינגר, הבלונדה, יקואל, צורף וסליחה על מי ששכחתי להכניס. תאגורי סיפר לנו בהתלהבות האופיינית שלו למה פייג' וויוז זה כבר מזמן לא זה וכמה ניוקונומי זה בעצם הדבר הבא כי הם עונים על כל מה שהיום ברשת לעומת כל מה שאתמול (א.ק.א אנליטיקס). הרשיתי לעצמי לצלם את כל ההרצאה שלו, 200 מגה שהם 50 דקות של הרצאה שאני אעלה אלהים יודע לאן ואשפוך לכאן לטובת העם והמדינה.

אני עושה שיווק ויראלי

ואז כשתאגורי ראה את זה הוא החליט שהוא פותח לי משרד שידוכים, התקרב למדבקה שלי וכתב את המילה single על הקו. Niv Calderon is single. זה מה שנקרא בעיני אנגייג'מנט מוצלח, גם יצרתי פייג' וויו מוצלח על המדבקה שעל החזה שלי, גם גררתי את המשתמש להשאיר תגובה (תגובה נוספת הגיעה אחר כך) ולאחר מכן, תוך כדי ראיון טלויזיוני שהוא נתן, הוא הכניס אותי לפריים והתגאה במה שהוא עשה (א.ק.א שיווק ויראלי).

הפאנל השני שהלכתי אליו (הפאנל המרכזי השני באולם המליאה) היה משעמם בעליל, גם אותו צילמתי, כלומר את כל הרבע שעה שהייתי שם, אבל כל הנוכחים שעל הבמה דיברו על חוסר תכנית עיסקית מצידם. התחושה שם היתה לי מוזרה והגעתי לשתי מסקנות. האחת היא שיוזרים מתקדמים מהר יותר מהאפליקציות והאתרים שהם משתמשים בהם. השנייה היא שהדוברים שעל הבמה הרגישו לי קצת כמו 2004-5. לא הבנתי איך בשנת 2008 עדיין אין תשובות על שאלות כל כך בסיסיות כמו איך להכניס כסף לאתר, על שאלות כמו מה הגולשים רוצים ומה הם מוכנים לעשות בשביל לקבל את זה, ובאופן כללי, למה מושיבים אנשים שהם לא אנשי חזון על הבמה. מה, באתי לקבל סקירה על מה שקורה או שבאתי לרענן את עצמי עם מה שעומד לקרות?! בדה מרקר הימרו על התשובה הראשונה.

כמה קטנות:
מודו- יצא לי לראיין את איש השיווק של מודו היום בבוקר. עוד נותרתי סקפטי לגבי השימושיות במכשיר הזה. המקשים לא אינטואיטיויים ותשכחו מלהשתמש במכשיר בתור טלפון ללא אזניית בלוטות'. אם מודו עולה בערך 200 דולר וג'אקט כלשהו (תלוי לאן אתם רוצים לחבר אותו) יעלה בין 50 ל-200 דולר ואזנייה עולה גם ככה בין 50 ל- 200 דולר, הנה החישוב הראשוני של כמה יעלה לכם לעבור לטכנולוגיה הזו.

בלוג טיוי- להשתמש במינוח "וידאו גולשים שתיים נקודה אפס" בהרצאה על בלוג טיוי זה כמו לקרא ליחידה 8200 (שמונה מאתיים) שמונה שתיים אפס אפס.

פז'ו ובלינק- בעוד אני מאד מעריך את מה שבלינק עושים בתחום השיווק באמצעות בלוגים בארץ, להציע פז'ו לבלוגר ליומיים נראה לי כמו צורה של הזניה וכמו שימוש לא נכון ולא מתאים בכוחם של בלוגרים להשפיע על דעת קהל לצרכי שיווק. שמעתי (אך מודה שעוד לא ראיתי) שיש איזושהי תסיסה בקרב מספר בלוגרים בנושא הזה. גם אני מתנגד. בלוגר שהוא עיתונאי מילא, בלוגר שפותח בלוג צרכני מילא. בעני צריך לשלם לבלוגרים עבור המילה הכתובה שלהם כי אם יש מישהו שצריך את השני זה המפרסם את הבלוגר ולא להפך. אני גם דוחה את הטענה שהמפרסם נותן לבלוגר צורת הנאה תמורת כניסת המותג לגוגל, כבר מזמן עברתי את השירות הצבאי שלי בו הייתי יוצא לסופשבוע ויוצא לחרוש את העיר עם הפז'ו שלי. הימים האלה עברו, וגם אין בלוגרים בגיל הזה שהם משפיעים ורציניים.

אפל- נקודה טובה: היה כיף להחזיק את המקבוק אייר ולראות כמה הוא דק. להערכתי בתוך שנה לא רק שנראה יותר ויותר ישראלים מחזיקים במק, מק יהפוך להיות טרנדי בישראל בצורה מוחשית ממש.
נקודה רעה: המקלדת של המקבוק אייר לא נוחה מספיק. המקבוק הרגיל נוח יותר.
נקודה רעה: כבוד ליבואנית אפל שנתנה חסות אבל- בעיני החסות לא היתה מספיקה והיה מקום לתפוס חלק גדול יותר בכנס, יותר שילוט, יותר מחשבים, יותר נוכחות. אפל זה סקס, אנשי היי טק אוהבים סקס.

האוכל- היה מצויין, טעים לאללה. חבל שלא היו עוד שמשיות בחוץ. אחרי ארוחת צהריים בשמש הקופחת של היום כולם נראו אדומים ותשושים, מצד שני, אולי זה רק אני.

ג'ף פולבר- עושה אירועי נטוורקינג, יכול, צריך וראוי שיכתוב את הספר על איך עושים אותם.

דבר אחרון: יותר מדי אירועי נטוורקינג בתקופה קצרה, לא מומלץ.

Firefox GUI
I have been experimenting on my Firefox’s graphical user interface after finding him insufficient for taking too much screen space.
My goal was to redesign the upper interface so that it could free space laptop screens usually does not have in abundance.
Initially I thought it would be a simple task, just opening the "Customize Toolbar" panel, inserting some more icons while removing unnecessary ones, breaking some inefficient, space devouring, toolbars and spreading their fuction buttons freely on my browser, wherever i see fit.

Why?
The answer to that is simple: the gui design of Firefox, and probably of all browsers is flawed. The upper gui takes too much valuable space that can help people get more screen space. The text boxes (address bar, search bar ect…) are wasting precious space, There is too much of empty space, that although important for people not to feel it too crowded, can be modified differently, to be more efficiant. Toolbars (look at the Facebook Toolbar as an example) are designed to take the size of the screen by default. Why is that? If you take a look at the Facebook Toolbar you would understand that its' size can be reduced by 50%. And if we're talking about Toolbars, why not merge them into other toolbars? Why does every toolbar takes a row of my browser and why does every toolbar creator thinks he can make it at whatever hight they want?

GUI experiments on Firefox are not advisable
When I started moving, changing and breaking my Firefox toolbars and other icons all over the place the software didn't like it.
My Fox started behaving strangely. First- after pressing the OK button I got dubble address bars, double Google boxes, my FWD button was not where it was suppose to be and in general, al hell broke loose. My Fox acted like WW2. Second, tabs that were opened didn't load and I had to restart the software to get where I wanted to go.

A friend told me
I asked a friend for help. I thought that because I already had problems with my wirless driver (stopped working once a day and required a boot) and with my NVidia (I'm one of the poor bastards that got a new laptop which hardware is not compatable with Windows Vista), I just couldn't go on without my favorite tool of communication, the Firefox. My friend offered me to delete my Firefox profile and create a new one instead. And so I did, and it worked. Now I have two profiles I can work with, one will be my experiments lab while the other will continue being my communicator to the world.

Before You Erase Your Profile
It is important to BackUp Your Passwords and it is imprtant to BackUp Your Addons List.
The main GUI is not mature enough to play with. Also, breaking toolbars and placing their componants outside of their natural habitat is inadvisable at this point.
