<p align="right">אחרי כמה פוסטים שדיברו על צ'אק נוריס וההתגייסות שלו לתמיכה במפלגה הרפובליקנית בבחירות בארצות הברית ב-2008 החלטתי ללכת לחפש אותו קצת בנווה המדבר הטלוויזיוני הגדול מכולם, היוטיוב. לשמחתי, לא מדבר ולא עצי דקל, ראיתי כמה תשדירי בחירות נחמדים ומצחיקים, אבל בעיקר רציתי להביא לכאן את צ'אק נוריס צוחק על עצמו, ואם כבר, אז לסיום את צ'אק נוריס הולך מכות עם ברוס לי ומפסיד בסוף.

Answer: The Google Operating System
Lately, I have been thinking about Google and what is next in the evolution of the social networking war.
Google launched the attack with its Open Social. Facebook counter attacked with its Facebook Platform Architecture.
Just today i read Chris Brogan’s post about the Implications of a Google Social Network. In his post he counts the action Google does in order to create it’s Gmail, our Inbox to, in essence, THE MOTHER of all social networks. how? with the joinup with AOL to the Gtalk chat, with the new and improved Reader of theirs, with the docs being available from anywhere, with the Pages, calender, Email and everything else. In his post Brogan said: " In fact, think about it, your social network is your contact list. No invitations necessary. That’s the coup de grace. You're already bought in, at least insofar as Google can help you convert your friends to your new social network: your inbox."
In my first days in Facebook I said it’s a functioning online operating system. And not only that, I thought, and i still think that if you put a working search engine inside (the Live by Microsoft- they're there already anyway), if you make your Inbox to work properly and create an Open Office as a built in application, some RSS and a working IM- you get to perfect online open OS, I would never look back at windows.
But hey, there’s Google, they already have all these "inside" their system, but the fact is- there is no "System" to act as a house to all these apps. So, they are thinking about the inbox. Why not?!
so bottom line- wouldn't it be an operating system?
ps- one last thing:
some years ago we thought Google would come up with a desktop competitor for Windows. I don't think it'll ever happen, they'll just do it as an online system, the desktop era is soon to be over.

This is the writer who wrote the episode "City on the Edge of Forever" of the original Star Trek (TOS). Harlan Ellison also worked for Babylon 5 and other shows over the years.
His name is mentioned in the context of the new Star Trek movie scheduled to come out December 25th, 2008, a year from now.

בלוגספירות שלא אשקיע בהן יותר
<p align="right">את ימי כבלוגר התחלתי אי שם באוגוסט 2003 בישראבלוג. הייתי סטודנט אז, שנה ראשונה לסוציולוגיה ופילוסופיה.
בבלוג הראשון שלי טמונים כמה מאוצרות חיי, הן מבחינת כתיבה אישית ואו חושפנית, הן מבחינת רעיונות שהתעסקתי איתם, הן מבחינת כתיבה אקדמית שמצאה את דרכה אל הרשת והן מבחינת ההבשלה שלי כאיש רשת וליתר דיוק, כבלוגר במלוא מובן המילה.
זה מזכיר לי שפעם הייתם מזהים בלוגר אדוק על ידי זה שהוא היה אומר לכם משפט כמו "זה דורש פוסט" או משפטים דומים. היום הטרנד הוא לומר "שניה, אני הולך לעדכן בסטטוס בפייסבוק". כך או כך, אני עומד בשני הקריטריונים האלה.
<p align="right">אחר כך פתחתי בלוג חובבני לצילום, אחר כך פתחתי בלוג על חוויית השימוש שלי במחשבים ובאינטרנט, אחר כך פתחתי בלוג עצמאי ואז עוד בלוג על אינטרנט (לתקופה קצרה בלבד, כאקט שיווקי וצרכני), אחר כך פתחתי בלוג בקפה, ואז בבננות (כי הזמינו אותי) ואז את קונקטד, זה הנוכחי.
<p align="right">עזבו, זה לא על להראות כמה בלוגים יש לי, זה על לספר לכם איפה אתם לא תקבלו יותר עדכונים ממני אבל לא בכזו ישירות.
<p align="right">ישראבלוג. בעוד אני מחובר שם בטבורי לארבע שנים של כתיבה, נשים, לימודים, חוויות ומלחמה אחת אנילא יכול לראות את עצמי כותב שם שוב כפי שכתבתי בעבר למרות המקום הנוח שיצרתי לי שם. כל מה שאני רואה שם זה בני נוער, ילדות ילדים, ונמאס לי מזה. אם זה מקום לכולם זה כבר לא מקום בשבילי ולחפש בלוגים איכותיים בישראבלוג קשה יותר מלמצוא בלוגים איכותיים בטכנורטי. אבסורד, אבל נכון. מעבר לזה, עייפתי מהודעות פקאצתיות שמבקשות ממני לתרום את הפרו שלי. זה מביך ומפגר.
<p align="right">תפוז. עבדתי שם תקופה קצרה וראיתי איך הדברים מתנהלים. בתקופה הזו הייתי עסוק בלאפיין את הממשקים של הקומונות והאלבומים מחדש. עשיתי את זה ותוך כדי גם נתתי שירות לגולשים של תפוז, חלקם נחמדים, חלקם בטוחים שהעולם סובב סביבם, חלקם מנותקים מהמציאות. כל ישראל שם, אבל לראות את זה מבפנים זו חווייה אחרת. בנוגע לממשק- תפוז סובלת מבעיות ממשקיות קשות שקשורות בהיות חלקים מהמערכת לא מאופיינים כלל ובהיות מנהלי הפורומים קבוצת לחץ קשה מנשוא למקבלי ההחלטות. את הבעיות הממשקיות אגב מנסים מנהלי המוצרים לפתור על ידי טלאים שהם ממציאים ושלא לוקחים הרבה זמן וגם אני נאלצתי להמציא כל מיני טריקים שלא לוקחים זמן מתכנתים כדי לקדם ולו במעט את הבלאגן שם. מדהים שלאפיין את הבלוגיה, אחרי שיצאה משולחן העבודה של מנהל המוצר לוקח כל כך הרבה זמן, חודשים ארוכים. אני לא חושב שאלה המאפיינים שאשמים אלא ה"סדר עדיפויות". בתפוז, לדעתי, יושבים כמה אנשים שאולי יודעים לחשוב על איך עושים כסף (וכהוכחה, הפופאפים הזוועתיים האלה שמטנפים את חוויית הגלישה באתר למורת רוח הגולשים), אבל שאין להם מושג באינטרנט של היום, ויסלחו לי כל אותם חברים קרובים שלי בתפוז על ה"שחצנות" שלי בנושא, לא עליכם אני מדבר, אתם יודעים את זה. אין סיבה שדברים יקחו כל כך הרבה זמן אם כל המתכנתים יושבים אין-האוס ויש לכם שם כמה אנשים ממש טובים. אין סיבה שאיפיונים שהיו מוכנים לפני שלושה וארבעה חודשים לא יעלו כבר לפאקינג בטא או לקבוצת מיקוד מקרב הגולשים הנבחרים (ויש כמה כאלה בתפוז). כך או כך- קשה לי לחזור לכתוב בתפוז, אבל לא תשמעו מילה רעה אחת על הפורומים- גם אם הם נראים לא משהו- הם עדיין מערכת הפורומים הטובה בעולם ומדהים- אבל כבר הרבה שנים שאני חושב ככה.
<p align="right">קפה דה מרקר זה בית זונות אחד גדול. פעם עוד הייתי מפרסם שם אי אילו רשומות שלי בנוגע לאימון אבל קרה שם משהו לא יאמן-
הגולשים משתמשים ברשימת החברים שלהם בכדי לשלוח דואר זבל בתפוצה, זה פשוט בלתי נסבל.
איך מתחיל כל מייל כזה?
<p align="right">ציטוט: "אני בדרך כלל לא עושה דברים כאלה אבל הפעם באמת הייתי חייב" ואז הלינק. או "אני נורא אשמח אם תגיבו על הפוסט שלי" ואז הלינק.
זה פשוט זוועה, וזה מה שקרה לאנשים שלא היו פעם בלוגרים וזו התרבות שאליה הם נחשפו. מי מפרסם מיילים כאלה? בעיקר אנשים שבטוחים שהם מרכז היקום או שהכתיבה שלהם או הנושא שלהם נורא חשוב (אצבע לגרון) או שאנשים שאשכרה משתמשים ברשימה שלהם כדי ליחצן את עצמם או אחרים. זה זילות, זו הזניה ובאמת לא אמרתי כלום על הממשק (עוד יבוא היום לזה).<p align="right">
גם שם אני לא רואה את עצמי כותב שוב, זה הכל ביחד אני מניח, הממשק, הספאם הנוראי. אנשים אולי מגיבים ואולי רוצים להוסיף אתכם לרשימת הקונטקטים שלהם, אבל התיבת דואר שלי בוכה מאז ואין שום דרך לעשות הסרה מסודרת של כל השמות, בעיה.
Virtual Reality as an Extention of Reality
Last night I went out to a club and realized there are many people with pocket cameras shooting their friends, posing to the camera.
This era, with Israel somewhere at the top in social media penetration in comparison to other countries, when, I guess, one in three or four are Facebook users, and more are Flickr users, I realized that social media donates to the camera industry even more than the camera companies help themselves. It must be true to Flickr- but my guess is that it’s true also to Facebook.
Something more- the penetration of social media to our lives has changed something we all thought before- if once we met a person on the internet and went to meet him in reality, now we also meet people in reality, only to continue the relationship on the internet- virtual reality.
How did I come to that- from the cameras, they capture moments in reality time and with one’s help, the photos are "publi-shared" on the web.
So- cameras help people take relations fron reality to virtual reality. Social media help cameras sales go up.
more camera- more social users of online networks- more meetings in real life.
Question rises: Isn't it time to stop calling virtual reality a lesser reality and start treating it as the extention, and also, in the same time- the begining of reality?
Facebook keeps the world small and in the same time makes it bigger
I just got a message from a girl I really haven't spoken to since high school (ten years minimum) and even than it was a Hi Hi communication, a party from time to time and really nothing else.
Last time I saw her was a few weeks ago in the iDrink, and only than i realized it’s not the last time.
Facebook is many things. One of its qualities is being a sort of yellow pages that as the Israeli commercial sais: "If you're not there you do not exist". I'll tell you more than this. Facebook is like a refrigerator where you put your notes, where you and your family communicates on a daily basis- I made you a salad, I love you, leave the chicken to me, Niv has posted a note, your girlfriend tagged you in a photo, Dan and John joined the AA group after coming home wasted from the party yesterday your friend from age 11 took photos in.
The world is flat, there is no more doubt about it. Moreover, the world is small, we can't escape our social past and as we reconnect connections we once had, we're tying new connections, new social meeting points (people) in our unending social web until death do us part.
So as facebook keeps our world small in the sense that we're still in touch with people we studied with when we were kids, it also enlarges our social web but not only in the virtual reality, but in reality it self.
